“Too Far Gone” What went on?? Walking Dead Recap/Review

Wait.. What Just happened?

After being left last Sunday with this image firmly engraved in our minds, we knew that imminent war would be dawning upon

The Walking Dead.

Buuut what we really didn’t know, was how blown away (Tank anyone?) we would be by this mid-season finale.

“Brian” , also the artist formerly known as “The Govnuh”, whom you may know from “I Attacked Your Prison” and “I Attacked Your Prison 2” has a very pivotal  talk with his camp, he pretty much asks them  “Hey I’ve got this old vendetta, they’ve got supplies and a place though, wanna help me?”

w2

Brian then enters the trailer

with Hershel and Michonne being held captive and he basically states what goes unsaid between the two rivaling groups,

we cannot coincide with one another in the same space.

w3
Hershel tries to redeem the Brianator, saying that they can, but The Govnuh has none of it.

This leads to him ending an imposed question from Hershel about how Brian could justify his daughters possibly being killed in the attack and understanding because he was once a father, with a simple “Because they aren’t mine”. Thus showing that Brian Blake is indeed, a cold-hearted, murderous ass that missed the sharing activities of the 3rd grade.

One-eye Bri, also mentions that Michonne and himself could not reconcile, while her body language responds with concurrence.

(By the way, back in prison-ville) Rick drops the Carol bomb on Pookie a.k.a Daryl. Yeah he flips shit. Some how he doesn’t end up getting thrown over a railing though..

Later on..

One-eyed Bri, got his eye on the prize.

A nice “ode” to how they rolled up to the prison was presented, albeit with less people and less troop vehicles.

The talk. The talk we’ve all been waiting for.

It’s kind of funny because One-eye asks for Rick to come down for a “Talk” (while Rick is only equipped with his side-arm), then pretty much ends it with “I have a tank! and I am letting you leave here, what more is there to talk about?!”

Of course Rick pulls a page out of Rick’s own book, used by Hershel earlier, to try to sway the pirate into believing that they can coincide

and live together peacefully among the pea-pods of the garden (in some weird segregation-ey) way. Hershel agrees, but of course..

The Pirate wants all the booty to himself. (Michonne’s butt comes to mind)

Rick makes a very firm statement that they will not leave the prison. They will fight back. This is what initiates possibly the most cataclysmic part of this episode.

Hershel buys the farm. By Michonne’s blade, in The Governors hands. (In the comics this was Tyreese in Hershels place).

Rick’s reaction ignites an all out rage that has been coming to a head, and the shot heard round the walker infested world is heard.

This begins the war, with Rick ducking for cover as he takes a shot to the leg behind a bus.

Everyone else begins to pop off shots, including Maggie and Beth who completely lose it and shoot like wild women (justifiably).

The tank eventually makes its way into the grounds of the prison, But Daryl (while fighting off walkers and human targets) disables the tank

with a grenade down the cannon, enabling the death of the tank commander (Kirk Acevedo’s character [Band of Brothers]) to be killed with an arrow to the chest. Courtesy of Daryl.

Mean-while.. the Governor is taken surprise by Rick, camping from the bus before, and this results in the culmination of Rick getting his @$$ kicked into a pulp until….

Michonne kills The Governor. But Not Really. (She just critically wounds him through the back via her katana and walks away. Seriously.)

The others are trying to make their way to the bus, that eventually escapes. leaving a few behind.

The real killer happens to be Lilly (as in the comics).

The shot that symbolized the most to me was the one-eyed king being stepped on. Symbolizing his death.

Later on Rick searches for Carl, with luck. They reunite and share a brief moment of relief, then start searching for Judith.

While the battle was occurring, the children under Carol’s wing seemingly leave Judith behind, after being coerced to fight instead of run to the bus.

Back to the present:

What Rick and Carl find is this:

w10

Is Judith dead? Victim to walkers? There’s alot of blood there. Was she taken onto the bus?

Either way, this is a huge hit to Carl and Rick, who have now lost both Lori and apparently Judith.

(who were taken away with one bullet in the comics)

First off. Rest in peace to Hershel.. Good ol’ Hershey’s kisses, Colonel Sanders, Spaghetti Tuesday man, whatever you may have called him. Take it easy old man. Your departure is saddening to say the least.
